The Ho-chunk tribe organized themselves as different unit of clans. The most important clans were the sky, thunder, and bear clan. Family in the clan were very important. Children were very close to their uncles, and their uncles would be the one to give out punishments. Relationships were more typical among nieces and nephews on the mother’s side of the family. The relationship typically dealt with teasing. Among with the children growing up, they would have to decide on life career choice. This choice could be pursuing art and literature.
In this path, the tribe would make various amounts of art by pounding metal, carving animals, and oil paintings. This is a wide variety, known for many Indian tribes in America. These children could also grow up to become warriors and protect their own lands. Yet in some instances, these members will be a widely known artist. These artist vary in designs by if they are more environmental, to wood carving, to painting.
