There are many things you need to know to play LaCrosse. In order to play LaCrosse you need to have the right equipment such as a LaCrosse stick, cleats, helmet, gloves and elbow pads. Sometimes refs call penalties on you and if you want to not get penalties you need to know what the penalties are like slashing or offsides and the penalty that comes right off the faceoff called carrying which is having the ball on the ball on the wrong side of your stick. Most LaCrosse games last for about 45 minutes plus the time it takes for the refs and the 12 minute warm up. A typical youth LaCrosse periods last for 12 minutes not including the time for the refs to get from spot to spot.

In hockey you have 3 forwards who get the puck and 2 defenseman who stay at the blue line or keep people from scoring goals in your zone. In LaCrosse you have players on attack and players on defense the amount of people in the positions on attack and defense are the only difference Goaltenders are both positions in hockey and LaCrosse but they were different gear because a hockey puck is made of solid hard rubber and a LaCrosse ball is made of softer rubber so hockey goalies were more pads for protection.
