There is dim noise of doctors and patients in the hallway,a slight knock on the room door as it is gently being opened. DR. CODY Good Afternoon ladies. It’s been about eight months since we saw you and I hate giving bad news but, things don’t look like they’re getting any better. The cancer is advancing rapidly and there is no way we can prevent it from spreading, but we can slow down the process. Be back next week to perform a surgery that will slow down the process.

DALIR (CON’T)
Never lose hope. I believe you will win this battle. Minoo, remember to always look up at the sky.
You’ll never find rainbows if you’re looking down.
Minoo slowly lifts her head and stares at the sky the whole ride home. She points at several things and mumbles, but never says anything aloud.
INT. ONCOLOGY CENTER - SURGERY DAY MID-DAY
Minoo’s vision has gotten way worse over the past week and she can only see shadows. She notices that as she looks up she sees light, but when she looks down, there is only darkness. She keeps her head up as Mrs. Dalir holds her hand to lead her into the radiation room.
MINOO
Mom, I think I’ve got this. I can win this battle.

Mrs. Dalir looks at him with an angry face and rolls her eyes. She puts her face in her hands and exhales heavily.
MRS. DALIR
No! Don’t think like that!
Our daughter will be fine, she is a strong girl with a huge heart. I doubt our God will ever do that to her.
There is a short moment of silence in the room. Mr. Dalir gives Mrs. Dalir a look of uncertainty. Just as they look away from each other, there is a knock at the door.
MR.DALIR
Naz, can you get the door please? I’m not in the best shape to have guests.
Mrs. Dalir opens the door. To her surprise, it is one of Minoo’s friends. Minoo’s friend, Yasmin, enters the Dalir house quietly and is led by Mrs. Dalir into Minoo’s room where Minoo is resting.
YASMIN (V.O)
Minoo? I stopped by to see you, I hope you get much better.
I’ve been missing you so much at school. Lunch is so not the same without your humor.
Minoo cracks a soft smirk. She whispers very lightly, it is almost
