Home can be defined in many ways; from where you family and loved ones are, to where you lay your head at night. Home in my definition is not where I grew up, or where my immediate family is, but instead where I learned who I wanted to be, and how to get there. Elberfeld Indiana is home in my definition. Where I could see myself getting a little older every visit I payed to my cousins, aunts, and uncles. They were the ones that taught me who I want to be, and tried there best to keep a southern streak in me. Everyone worked on the stipe mines, or at the family farm. In the falls my dad would help stack hay bales, and we would later shoot at the used gas cans. Anytime I go back it's as if I have come home after being away for a long period of time. As I know just about crack, and every bend in the road from running them year after year. I always looked up to him in a way, even before I realized it. Anytime he would come home every few years everyone would be waiting by the door, hoping to see him pull up the gravel driveway. I had imagined him as this larger than life superhero figure growing up, as everyone always talked about how brave he was, and how he was serving the country.
