Introduction
When working in care home, you need to be careful of any potential hazards that may harm you. Wherever you are, there would be a potential hazard and you need to know how to keep yourself safe as well as others. You will need to be care full as you will be working with vulnerable people.
When you are on your placement, you wont be eligible to lift the people in this home, you wont have to help them shower or get up. If anyone asks you to do this then politely say no and explain that your on placement. If you say yes then you could be putting others in danger as well as yourself and this could get you in trouble.
Equipment
On placement you will not be using the big equipment like lifting aids and hoists because you will not

You will need to be careful of any infections going around, if you have a cut then make sure you cover it up and if your ill make sure you tell us so that we can assess weather you are ok to come in because we don’t want the people here getting ill. Some of the people here will have injections done and you should stay away from any equipment or needles that are used for this. It protects employees and the public from work activities. This keeps employees and the4 public safe because it means that the employers need to provide and maintain safe equipment and a safe place to work. They need to provide a safe working environment and ensure the safety of others (the public) and make sure that they give their employees proper training, information and supervision while working. (M1) If you were to work in a care home then the equipment will be regularly checked and the staff would have training when something new with the law or something new
