I realized there had to be a way to supply the homeless with some kind of resource that would allow them to sleep. So I came up with the Back Bed (subject to change). The Back Bed is essentially a wooden plank with a sleeping bag attached to it. It is designed so that homeless can place said plank over spikes or benches and be able to take a nap. The way it works is that it has 6 adjustable legs. Similar to a table’s legs. The legs are able to be adjusted in height depending on how high the dividers or spikes are. Once the desired height is set, the person can simply crawl into their sleeping bag and take a nap. I thought this was a really great idea and could benefit a lot of people on the streets. But then I thought, why not take it one step further, why not make it lightweight and portable so people can travel with the Back Bed and take it wherever they need it. So I designed the Back Bed to be able to fold up into a lightweight square. It is able to be lightweight because it is made of balsa wood. So now, homeless are able to fold it up and take it on the go. In addition to its foldable features and lightweight qualities, it also has two straps connected to the outside. Said straps can be used to help the homeless person wear the folded Back Bed like a Back Pack. This way, they are able to transport the Back Bed from over pass to over pass and not have it be a
