To conclude, Homeward Bound is an organization that strives to give strength to people, helping them to realize their self worth and importance to move forward in a positive direction for their resplendent future. Vicki Pina, the community outreach manager at Homeward Bound, is the woman that we have been keeping contact with and interviewed. Vicki graciously welcomed us into the Homeward Bound organization. Vicki loves her job because, “you never know what will happen each day, and every day is different.” We first asked her how long Homeward bound had been open and she answered, “ We are an agency that has been in the valley for close to 30 years, but they have been in their physicality for 16 years.” She told us that the original focus for Homeward Bound was for homeless people 30 years ago. The origin of Homeward Bound started with purchasing small homes or “hut homes,” in Vicki’s terminology, for people to move into. Homeward Bound had 80 homes throughout the valley. The board or official positions of Homeward Bound noticed that people were fleeing these homes in the middle of the night trying to escape domestic violence. Additionally, they wanted to offer a more secure solution and protection for women and children. Today Homeward Bound has an 80 unit apartment complex for
