Introduction This paper will look at applying various aspects of adult development and the family systems theory. In order to do so, the student interviewed a young family of three. The father participated in the developmental interview, and both he and the mother answered the students questions geared toward the family systems theory. Josh and Maggie married in May of 2021. Josh has a Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Ministry from Campbellsville University. Josh is currently employed as the Youth Minister at Woodlawn Christian Church here in Campbellsville. He oversees ministries for babies, college students and everything in between. Maggie also has her bachelor’s degree from Campbellsville and now works as a Victim Advocate in Green County. Discussion of Developmental Level During the course of this interview, Josh was asked questions that gave the student insight into both his psychological and physical development as an adult. The main psychological development the student was investigating was where the individual fell in Erikson’s Stages of Development, specifically if he had achieved intimacy or isolation. The primary conflict in this stage of development concerns forming intimate, loving relationships with other people (Cherry, 2023). Individuals who achieve intimacy will have rich, fulfilling relationships (Cherry, 2023). Those that struggle during this stage are more at risk of feelings of loneliness and isolation (Cherry, 2023).
