Hospitality is a main characteristic of any kind person. Hospitality is the warm and generous well king of all. Many people have the characteristic of being hospitable, but some people don’t which usually causes them to do callous things. The devil's arithmetic by Jane Yolen, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum show hospitality through the characters, but Out of my mind by Sharon Draper does not display hospitality.

The main character Hannah is a young Jewish girl on her way to one of the many Jewish holidays. She's asked my family to open the door for the prophet Elijah. She's in teleported to Poland in 1942 and she embodies a life of China Abramowitz. She is on concentration camp and goes through many struggles. Once she helps people she is teleported back to her living room. She's back at the feast and she sits next to her at Ava. She notices that her aunt has a barcode, her spurn asks her,” ‘doesn’t frighten you still? You've never let me explain it to you and your mother hates me to talk about it. Still, if you want me to'... Hannah touches the numbers on her hand on with surprising genteelness, whispering,'no no, please let me explain it to you'"(yolen 162-163). Hannah is showing hospitality by telling her aunt that she understands her past and is not ashamed of it. There are many ways of showing hospitality, everyone does it differently.
