Sexual harassment is a unwanted sexual gesture or remarks that can happen in many ways. The victim or the person who is doing the harassing can be a man or a women. Within the past few months men and women have come forth reporting sexual harassment against prominent people that occurred years ago. Many people question why would a victim wait years to report such a crime, and what does the victims hope to gain for coming forth with such allegations. Is it right for a person to be prosecuted for sexual harassment years after the incident occurred?
Many people find it hard to report sexual harassment. Victims do not want to report sexual harassment do to being shame, or scared of what the consequences will be. In some cases a victim might not fully remember the sexual harassment that occurred. There are also some victims who think that if the crime is not reported immediately, it is to late to say anything, and nothing will be done. It is never to late to want to bring charged on the person who has committed a crime. Although the case might be a challenge due to a lack of evidence, attempting to get the true out, and having the perpetrator prosecuted might help bring some closure to the victim. It is only right no matter how long ago the incident occurred, the perpetrator needs to pay for what has happened. It is important for the person to be prosecuted and held accountable for his or her actions, because of the fear, hopelessness, and hurt they have brought upon a innocent
