Alexander Graham Bell was a very inspiring inventor. Not only did his creations change the way we communicate, they left a mark of hope for all. Dedicated to helping the hearing impaired, Bell faced many challenges, all to be overcome with persistence to achieve his dreams (HATTON, 2002). Becoming a master in electric wave transmission, he was able to touch lives. (“Alexander Graham Bell,” 1998). Alexander Graham Bell created a new age in communication, using persistence and dedication, as he transformed the telegraph into the telephone, resulting in an inspiration for others. To truly understand how Bell changed the life of many people forever, we must first look at what he has created. While on a quest to raise attention to help the deaf, Bell started experimenting with telegraphs to learn about sound waves. Weirdly enough, Bell actually created the telephone as a byproduct of this research and experimentation (HATTON, 2002). In the summer of 1875, Bell and his assistant Watson made a critical breakthrough for making the telephone (“Alexander Graham Bell,” 2006). They changed the intermittent electrical current of the telegraph into continuous varying electrical current (“Alexander Graham Bell,” 1998). Not only was he an inspiration that ignited a path to guide others to help the deaf, Bell also founded an association for helping the deaf and bringing awareness for the deaf (“Alexander Graham Bell,” 1998). On top of all of this, Bell also taught at the first school for the deaf in Boston (“Alexander Graham Bell,” 1998). He taught both students and teachers to help lead the way to a better future for the hearing impaired (“Alexander Graham Bell,” 2006).
