How Did Baron De Montesquieu Influence Our Nation's Government

After attending the press conference, there were a couple ideas I saw that had a good influence on our nation’s government. Baron de Montesquieu, a philosophe, advanced his idea of the separation of powers. He believed that dividing the government into three equal branches was the best way to protect the citizens’ liberties. Our nation’s government today has a total of three branches; the legislative, judicial, and executive branches. Another idea I saw was that of John Locke. He developed the idea that at the very moment when humans are born, they are already bestowed upon the rights to life, liberty, and property, to which he called natural rights.
