In “Benjamin Banneker” Benjamin was a very influential man who made important contributions to people by inventing many amazing things such as an irrigation system, the Banneker Clock with carved pieces of wood, and a Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia Almanac in 1789. Benjamin Banneker paved the way for innovative thinking for people around the world.

To begin, Benjamin Banneker invented the irrigation system to help his family’s farm by controlling the water flow. The irrigation system helps in times of drought and helps the farm run better. In paragraph 2 it says, “Because of this creation, his father’s farm flourished even in times of drought.” This evidence helps explain why the irrigation system helps his father’s farm flourish.
