Tuesday November 3rd of 1992 was an important day. It was Election Day! The major candidates running were Republican George H.W. Bush, Democratic Bill Clinton which was the governor of Arkansas. As well as Ross Perot, an independent business man from Texas.
During the election campaign Ross Perot failed to win electoral votes but he made a great impact because his concerns about free trade, federal budget deficits, and the U.S. national debt helped economic issues as one of the main issues in the campaign. A major event during the campaign was that both Bush and Bill Clinton agreed to take control of health costs & provide health insurance without raising taxes. There was an issue though. They both had different ideas on how to achieve that.

George Bush got 168 electoral votes, 39,102,343 popular votes and Bill with 370 electoral votes and 44,908,254 popular votes won the election and became President. I think the election turned out the way it did was because Bill had better reasoning’s to do what he had to do.
For example, some qualities Bill Clinton has that may have helped him win were because he was a really great speaker. He also had great “charm, determination, and political skills.” His priority if elected was the economy. Just like qualities everyone also has weaknesses. There were rumors about Clinton going around saying that he was a marijuana user and accusations of Adultery. During Clintons first year in office which took place at the end of the cold war, he made getting abortions easier and had a healthcare reform that his wife Hillary led him too. He also opposed the Vietnam War as well.
Due to some of Bill Clintons deficiencies which were charges of sexual harassment by an Arkansas Government employee and accusations of ordering a military action overseas; Clinton was the 2nd president to be impeached by the House of Representatives in 1998. His political skills helped him through his 2nd year term to be re-elected
