The 1800s was not a good time for children, due to child labor. It was such a big issue that it had affected children's health, education, and the economy. Children were used for child labor because families needed as many people to work just to get buy, and that still was not enough. Children would get paid very little and work long hours. Child labor was not only wrong but it was also inhuman. They were treated as slaves which no one should ever be treated like. By the early 1900s about 2 million children were working to help support their families.
