The Red Cross is an organization founded in 1881. The founder of the Red Cross is a women that went by the name Clara Barton. The American Red Cross started to help in the war before America had came to help. The Red Cross had helped many people in the war. It was known as a heaven by some that were saved by them in the war. To them it was the ray of light in their cloud of darkness. Clara Barton started the Red Cross in 1881. She started it at the age of 60 and led it for 23 years. She had been working in the Patent Office in Washington D.C when the World War I had began.
