At the beginning of the book, we see that JFK’s assassination was due to poor security at the time when the Secret Service let people get close to the president, driving very slowly in his car. “It was easy for the scattered spectators to stake out a spot right at the edge of the curb and stand just a few feet away from where the president's limousine would soon pass” (85).
