John Adams wrote down the things he wanted to happen for the better, for instance “An alliance to be formed with France and Spain”, “Government to be assumed by every colony”, “Powder mills to be built in every colony and fresh efforts to make gun powder” and a “Declaration of Independency”. Independence was rarely talked about in the public but to Adams, Independence was a guarantee of American liberty. July 1,1776, Adams wrote “A declaration, that these colonies are free and independent states has been reported by a committee some weeks ago for that purpose, and this day or tomorrow is to determine its fate. All the colonies except for Georgia sent delegates. George Washington, John Adams, John Jay, Patrick Henry and Samuel Adams were all involved in the First Continental Congress. The Intolerable Act were a series of Parliamentary Acts sent in response to the Boston Tea Party and was aimed at Massachusetts. They were deemed coercive or intolerable by the colonies. The Boston Port Act, Government Act, Justice Act, Quartering Act and the Quebec Act were some of the Parliamentary
