How did Josef Stalin rise to power? Josef Stalin was born December 18, 1879. In Gori Georgia. His parents are Besarion Jughashvili , and Keke Geladze. He Grew up in Georgia the city where attended school. Here are somethings about Josef Stalin, when he was in his teens He changed his name to Stalin which means man of steel. Josef’s real name is Josef Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili. Josef had a hard childhood. His dad was a shoe maker and alcoholic who beat his son and his mother was a laundress. Between 1902 and 1913 Stalin put in prison 8 times by the secret police. Stalin got arrested and imprisoned in the Shpalerhy Prison in July he was sentenced to three years exile in Siberia. Josef started to rise up after the Russian Revolution in 1917. The Russian Revolution was a pair of revolutions in Russia in 1917 which dismantled the Tsarist autocracy and led to the rise of the Soviet Union. When did Joseph Stalin come to power in the USSR?
