In this essay, I will be explaining how Manzanar tore the Wakatsuki family apart. The family had to go to an internment camp because the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and all the Japanese Americans had to be unfairly relocated.

Going to Manzanar tore the Wakatsuki family apart because they were not the same family during or after the camp. During their time in Manzanar the family started getting into arguments more and once Papa got back he started drinking a lot and abusing Mama with his cane.
