Muhammad was widely regarded as the both the prophet of Islam and main writer of the Qur’an. First and foremost, he was a religious leader. He received the word of God from an angel and became God’s messenger on earth. When his people needed him, he became their political leader as well. Muhammad was a Caliphate and helped in the Unification of the Arabian Peninsula. He forced the Islamic religion upon the people inhabiting the area of Arabia. Jesus Christ was the foundation of the Christian church. He was the first to evangelize for Christianity, but the main people responsible for the expansion of Christianity where Jesus’ disciples and followers. Hart describes this as a flaw in Jesus’ teaching because Muhammad did more evangelizing work with fewer disciples. Hart goes on to say St. Paul was more pivotal than Jesus to the growth of Christianity and considers Jesus as collaborator rather than a founder. Muhammad was the actual author of the Qur’an, where as Jesus had no role in writing the Bible. Instead of looking these aspects as flaws, look at it strengths.
