Nina Simone was a singer, songwriter, and activist for many. She is mostly known for being one of the most influential jazz musicians. Nina Simone gained popularity when she released her live album “Nina Simone at Town Hall” which received a lot of attention and positive reactions. Born in 1933 in North Carolina, with her loving parents Mary and John Waymon. She realized her love for music at a very early age, at only 3 years old she started playing the piano. She showcased these talents in the church choir. Her classical background still remained an important part of musical identity throughout the years.
