There were many great kings throughout Scottish history, but none can compare to that of Robert I later known as Robert the Bruce. Robert the Bruce had a tremendous impact on his country during his life and reign as king that set up Scotland to become the prosperous country that it is today. Without Robert the Bruce’s influence on Scotland it would not be recognized as the country it is today. There was a boy that was conceived on the western coast of late 12th century Scotland named Robert I. Robert later in life pushed the country itself out of England’s grasp and into independence. The path that Robert took to achieve Scotland’s independence and gain his prestigious title of Robert the Bruce King of Scotland was filled with essential events, some of which were remarkable and some of which were dark. Throughout the course of Robert’s life those events that he underwent shaped his legendary mark on history into that of what it is remembered for today. Although later in history Robert became one of Scotland’s most famous warriors and greatest hero’s he started out as an educated higher class individual. With his new motto in mind Robert went on to leave his hiding place and raise an army to fight the evils of England. Once his army was raised he used a specific tactic of guerrilla warfare in battle which helped him become victorious and highly feared.
