Salvatore Sarno, Chairman of MSC South Africa, shared his vision to the people in South Africa. He wanted to change lives for the better and make the nation proud. Sarno wanted to build the first African team to join America’s Cup. He dreamed of competing in world’s most important sailing competition. To achieve that, he selected locals who grew up in dire situations. He gave them a chance to represent the nation with pride. Finally in 2007, Shosholoza sailed in America’s Cup. As a leader, Sarno enlisted everyone to believe in his dream. Everybody committed to a common purpose and the results unfolded.
