The westward expansion caused for the native americans to be put in reservations because the whites wanted them to become more american. The Westward expansion was negative, for it caused the transcontinental railroad to be built, immigrant problems, and it caused for their to be tension between natives and whites.

The transcontinental railroad being built was a negative because the building of the railroad killed many native Americans.On one of the active classroom graphs it states “ Plains indians lost their main source of food.” and it also states indians fought these intruders but were weakened by the loss of the buffalo.” which shows that the natives were killed from the outcomes of the transcontinental railroad because of their food
