Thurgood Marshall was part of the civil right movement. The civil rights movement was a movement to let African Americans have equal rights. Thurgood Marshall worked for civil rights for all Americans. He was an American civil rights lawyer, solicitor general, and the first African American to serve as associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Taught by Charles Hamilton, Marshall also served as a counsel for the Baltimore branch for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored people. Through Thurgood Marshall’s gifted skill in debating and the civil rights movement, Thurgood Marshall can help in continuing the civil rights movement through persuasion.

Fighting for civil rights with the help of National Association for the Advancement of Colored people, Thurgood Marshall was successful in defending civil rights for African American people. Thurgood Marshall was a superior African American lawyer that fought for civil rights.
