Trade has helped shape some tribes. The Paleo-Indians were the first big-game hunters in North America. They hunted using spear points made of chipped flint, called Clovis points. The use of Clovis points spread through trade and migration as they have been found in many parts of the continent, especially the Southwest and Great Plains. If it weren’t for trade, the Paleo-Indians would have had to find another food source.
