William Muholland was a civil nginerr, who is responsible for building the water supply’s infrastructure in Los Angeles to grow into one of the largest cities in the world. He designed and supervised the building of Los Angeles Aqueduct. This creation and operation led to the California water wars. Initially he started career as digging as well, after that he got a job from Fredrick Eaton as water distributor. He became first American civil engineer to use hydraulic sluicing to build a dam while constructing the silver lake reservoir. The new method attracted nationwide attention of the engineers and dam builders.
