Germany alone overcame the majority of Western Europe in a span as small as two months. Politicians across Britain voted to negotiate with Adolf Hitler in the fear of losing what all of Western Europe had already been robbed of. Winston Churchill overcame this, and in some sense battled his own stubborn people to go to war alone. He was not going to give up.
