INTRODUCTION
World war I had led Germany off track economically, for a while Germany had been struggling because of the reparations that had to paid from world war I and the harsh treatment from the treaty of Versailles. When a new and powerful party the Nazi came into view people of Germany found comfort in them and trusted them to better and build the country up again. Unfortunately the parties plans were not only to build a strong and flawless Germany but also control Europe this lead to the war.

When it came to ranks and to where the Allies would be coming in from. Hitler had not made any helpful decisions instead he delayed his own army. The Nazi had weak divisions and a weak air force, this only caused long detours for the Germans because the allied nations air force was strong.[SOURCE I]

PROBLEMS WITH THE ATTACKS.

One of the main problems with the attack on the Allies side was the dates. The date of the war had been planned to be a month earlier, then the actual date but due to weather conditions and tides alterations had to be made. A new date was set but had to move to the following day because the weather had been acting up days earlier(6 June). The weather would lead to more lives lost before even reaching the shores but Germany by that time would have seen them already coming which is how they had managed to dig into the cliffs in the first place ,[SOURCE G].

Many of the airborne troops lost theirs lives and also some were lost in glider crashes. Some were shot whilst landing by the German fire. Many lives were lost before the actual firing had began. [SOURCE G]

B17 bombers fell short of the attack at first and tides had swept the American troops and their vehicles back which set them off [ SOURCE
