Manson was often teased or made fun of by his peers throughout school (Hickey 292). Since Manson was taught to react with violence, he violently fought back towards his peers in response to their bullying. Children should not be fighting at such a young age as it can affect their physical and social development in many ways. Children who tend to act violent throughout their early years will also act violent forever and never truly learn how to cope with problems or issues because they have always reacted with violence. The violent behavior that Manson conveys throughout his childhood foreshadows what is to come for him as many criminals are found to be violent throughout their childhood. Since Manson was not taught how to solve his problems properly and right versus wrong, he would continue to act violently for the rest of his life. This caused him to drop out of school and no longer receive an education. Manson then relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana where he lived by himself as a teenager (Hickey 293). Teenagers should not live alone as they still need guidance in order to develop into an ideal person for today’s society. Manson was not receiving the proper guidance as a teenager because he was living alone and making his own rules. Since Manson began following his own rules and living how he saw best fit, he began to steal money from others (Hickey 293). Since Manson was never taught right from wrong growing up, he believed stealing money was acceptable. Manson started stealing money because he had no other option to provide for himself. This is another reason why teenagers should not live on their own; however, Manson was forced into living and caring for himself because he did not have the greatest family and support system. Society back in the sixties did not have the proper child care system. Manson should have been placed with a foster family rather than living alone in a big city as a young man. Since Manson lived on his own, the rest of his life was affected. He began participating in illegal behaviors during this time. These behaviors would continue and worsen throughout his entire life.
