In Cyrano De Bergerac, the play by Emond Rostand, Cyrano performs grand gestures, actions that are memorable, dramatic and often dangerous that demonstrate his qualities of courage and selflessness. Cyrano is a clever man and has a ton of courage by intimating Montfleury by clapping him off stage and dueling a hundred men around him and winning the fight(Rostand 12). Cyrano battles the hundred men and tells Roxane who he truly loves but realize that she loves another man and thats when Cyrano will make Roxane happy and not let her know. Roxane gets letters every single day from Christian during the time of war but Roxane does not realize that Cyrano is writing the letters and going through the treacherous war zone and going through enemy
