Cinema verite is a style employed in documentary filmmaking and was invented by Jean Rouch, a French filmmaker and anthropologist, who was greatly influenced by the films of Robert Flaherty, an American filmmaker who is credited with directing the first commercially successful full-length documentary titled Nanook of the North. Rouch also got the inspiration from a theory created by Dziga Vertov, a Soviet documentary director, based on Kino-Pravda, which translate to “film truth”. The subtitles run concurrently with the character’s voice and swift continuity in the movie to create a connection from one scene to the nest and also facilitate a flow of events. There is also music added to the film to rhyme with the emotions depicted and to make the movie enjoyable. The actors use low and calm tone in their conversations. It brings out the peaceful environment to express their feelings for each other and talk in an audible tone to enable the audience to comprehend the theme of love.
