The world back then was a lot different then the world is now because back then people who discovered something that was different or something they didn’t like than those people would get rid of it or they would just try and stay away from it, an example of this is Jackie Robinson, in the 1900’s Jackie Robinson was an African American baseball player who made it into the big league, he faced people calling him names and throwing food and garbage at him while he’s in the middle of batting or on the field this relates to Lennie because back then American Society was very different than today’s society people back then were scared of new things coming into people's lives, so because of this they just took the easy way out when they could.
