The research paper that I decided to do it’s about marijuana if it should be illegal or legal. And how it effect the economy and help. Well people have educated marijuana plant for years. The use of the plant goes back as far as agricultural history goes. People use the marijuana plant for, such as a food source, as a material for clothes, and even as a spiritual herb. For years the US government banned marijuana, but in 2006, twelve states have legalized the cultivation of the plant. It is important that one knows the reasoning behind the legalization of marijuana. I think marijuana should be legalized in every state because I believe marijuana is not a drug. Marijuana would be a more beneficial factor for the country if legalized in Ohio State, Legalizing marijuana would benefit the country for the government could tax it, and therefore it helps boost the economy in many ways. Marijuana also can be used for medical reasons as it is known to be a pain reliever and many patients would benefit from the use of it. Taxing marijuana is just one of several examples that confirms why marijuana needs to be legalized across the country. The states of Colorado and Washington State already passed a law permitting the use of marijuana throughout the state in 2012. "The state's Office of Financial Management originally estimated that taxes could raise nearly $300 million in the first year of the program's operation (2014), rising to more than $530 million in 2015" (McVay, 2013).
