Megan does not have a strong relationship with the school or community and that makes it harder for John to connect his microsystems. The exosystem is the connection between one or more settings that do not have direct contact with John. Public policy is a main factor in the exosystem (McWhirter, 2013). Public policy decisions that are not directly involved with John but still directly affect his microsystems are educational standards, heath care, or school lunch programs (McWhirter, 2013). John lives in a poor community and his school lacks funding for programs that would greatly improve his chances at a better education. The macro system consists of cultural values, belief systems, societal structure, gender-role socialization, race relations, and national and international resources (McWhirter, 2013). From there it is important to research and develop an individualized strategy with interventions and methodology behind the advocacy. According to the at-risk continuum John is in imminent risk so the best interventions to use would be prevention programs for aggression and conduct problems, anger reduction classes, second chance approaches, and reality therapy (McWhirter, 2013). These preventions and interventions are focused on youth who are making bad choices and that could lead them to actively at-risk and other destructive behaviors. The methodology that I am going to employ based on researching the literature is second chance interventions and reality therapy. Second chance interventions are used for those children that are already engaging in violent and aggressive behaviors like John (McWhirter, 2013). The main goal behind second chance intervention methods is to get trouble youth who have made bad decisions to get a chance to make better decisions (McWhirter,
