Antigone would rather follow mans law over anything. In many different conversations with other characters; she talks about how gods law justifies breaking mans law, and that the crime she is committing is holy. She will stop at nothing to bury her brother, and prove that gods laws are superior. Creon believes that by breaking his law, you are a trader and a criminal will be punished by being stoned. Creon shows his brutality by telling his only son left, that he can not marry Antigone, his soon to be wife, because she attempted to bury the rotting body of Polyneices, and is now labeled as a trader. Creon refuses to let the crime Antigone committed pass, even though she is soon to be family. Pride does not only affect characters in plays and movies, but it also affects all of us. Thinking you are too good for someone, or believing that you are above items or others will lead to some sort of a downfall. That downfall will be a rude awakening for majority of prideful humans. Creon experienced what it was like to be proved wrong, and he had to deal with the emotional consequences that followed. We do not comprehend by simply reading a story that our pride will lead to the downfall of all of humanity. We must all experience defeat to come to terms with the harsh realization this story
