How Does Steinbeck Obtain The American Dream

In the novel Grapes of Wrath, Steinbeck implies that Americans, usually the poor, support each other in obtaining the American Dream, whereas the rich (who has already obtained the American Dream) neglect the poor’s goals of obtaining the American Dream. Throughout the novel, the poor and impoverished supports and helps other poor people by offering, sharing, and accepting resources from each other. One example of such kind courtesy was when Mae and Al decides to sell a loaf of bread for 10 cents, when the actual price of retail was 15 cents.
