Tom Sawyer an Adventurous, mischievous, and slightly selfish boy changes into being brave, empathetic, and mature.The main idea of this book I think is about how the main character Tom Sawyer learns to change into a better person from before. I know that I connected with Tom because I’ve learned and changed throughout my seventh grade year.
The first way I knew how Tom’s behavior had changed was when he started to feel bad for all the troubles he had caused aunt Polly. Evidence of this was when he went away with his friends to an island and then he came back to write aunt Polly a note of where he was and he gave her a kiss before leaving again. Emotionally i feel like i matured immensely. I have felt myself care about things and take things more seriously than before. Before i didn't really think of friends or my interests seriously but now that i get older they are all that i care about. I feel like my older sister and mother set a good example for me because they taught me all i know about how to act around others and handle situations maturely. A way i know i've matured is that i'm always focused on doing the right thing no matter what. I've had to do this a numerous amount of times. An example of me doing so was when one of my friends told me to tell their mom that they were coming over to my house but in reality she told me she was going to go with someone else, i figured that having to lie just to go out with someone meant that her mom wouldn't allow her to go with whoever she was going to go with. Since i didn't want to lie to my friend's mom and i wanted to prevent my friend going out with someone who might harm her i told my friend that i didn't want to lie to her mom. My friend was mad at me but i didn't really care i just knew that i had to do the right
