There is also suspense about Ruth. As at the beginning of the play, Ruth looks pale. Walter asks her what is wrong and shortly Mama asks her the same question. Yet by the end of the scene, Ruth loses her conscious, so the audience knows that there is a serious thing happening. Even when the next scene opens, one still does not know what happens to Ruth. Then she appears and mama guesses that she is pregnant which make the audience guess the same. Ruth then affirms her pregnancy but she look worried about something. Mama asks her where she has been but suddenly Walter enters and the suspense extended. (loos44)

They are proud of their heritage. So, they believe that no one can push them out of their new house. The play ends as they start to move to the new house. They know that it will not be easy for them to live there because of the prejudice they will face but they insist on moving forward regardless of it.
