What is hardware? Well hardware is somewhere you can save your work. Sometimes it’s better to have two hard drives. However a hard drive which has stopped rotates at standard hard drives rotate at 5400 RPM. However at standard 7200 is something that allows you save your work and also retrieve your work. Now the faster the hard drives rotates the faster the files will get to the hard drive and also you will be able to make more changes. a hardware is something which is described as a device that is just physically connected to your computer. In hardware it would contain a circuit board and some other electronics. A fantastic example of hardware would be a monitor which is an output device which would allow a user to interface visually with the computer. Also without any hard drive in your computer, your computer wouldn’t exist. Why do we need a hard drive? Well a reason of why we need a hard drive is because if there was no hard drive what so ever in our computer systems our computers wouldn’t even exist! Not only that our computers wouldn’t even be able to work or function that’s why having a hard dive in your computer is vital and is really important. Now when data is sent to and from the hard drive, it is then interpreted by the disk controller, it would then tell the hard drive what it needs to do and how it will need to move the components that are within a drive. Now when the operating system needs to read or write information it would examine the hard drives file allocation table so that it can determine the file location and all other available areas and one this is done the discs controller would instruct the actuator to move the read/write and alligh the read/write head. Now because files are often scattered through the platter the head would move to different locations so that it can access all the information. Also all your information is stored on a traditional drive and is done magnetically. Now if your computer needs to read information from your hard drive it would read the magnetic polarities on the platter. Now on one side of the magnetic polarity it would have a 0 and on the other side it would have a 1. Reading this as binary data would be able to understand what the data is on the platter but for the computer to write information to the platter, the read/write head would allighs the magnetic polanties. Now when writing 0’s and 1’s this can be read as a letter.
Solid state drives (SSD) are now starting to replace hard drive disks (HDD) in lots of computers because of the clear advantages that these drives now have over HDD. Now while SDD is becoming more and more popular, HDD will continue to be a desktop computer with SDD because of the available capacity HDD offers over SDD. The reason why SSD is better to use for creating and editing graphics is because it won’t fail as there are no moving parts in the SSD drive.
