Childbirth in the Medieval times is one thing that was more complicated then, then it is now. Child birth was something that could be dangerous and never known if they would even make it past the birth. Many women died before the child was born because a sickness or just having complications during birth. In the Medieval times there were many fearful people that that after the babies were born if they didn't sneeze as soon as they were born, they would get out all the evil and spacious spirits that may be inside them. ("Childbirth and Children in Medieval Times." ) There may or may not have been any spirits actually inside the child, but there were people that truly believed in that and nothing was changing that. After the mother and baby are doing fine after the birth, the grandparents take the child to a church close by to get the baby baptized. The father and the grandparents attend the baby’s baptism.
