In Hamlet, fate causes the whole story to begin. The appearance of the ghost and its revelation cause Hamlet to go into his state of hatred for Claudius. Without this instance of fate, Hamlet would have no justifiable reason to kill Claudius (bachelorandmaster.com). Not only is Hamlet a tragic hero, he is the epitome of a tragic hero. His mission is a noble one, this being to avenge his father's murder and in the end, there is no other outcome that could happen other than Hamlet's death. It was inevitable. Hamlet is not able to see the full outcome of his actions due to his death and his death was caused by a tragic flaw (articlemyriad.com). Hamlet is a character with many flaws, such as his thirst for revenge. It is his understanding of words and ability to use language for his advantage that cause him to ultimately die. He based reality on his own understanding of what people say and tried to create his own meaning of what that person said. This flaw was likely developed because he was born to a royal family and had to go through many negative and stressful situations
