In the play, Romeo and Juliet, Juliet’s parents force Juliet to marry Paris. Paris is a relative of Prince Escalus and is a very affluent, handsome young man. He solicits Lord Capulet for his blessing of his daughter’s hand in marriage. Lord Capulet undertakes the proposal, but says to Paris that he must win the heart of Juliet. When she is approached with the plan of a marriage, she doesn’t affirm the fact that she is already married to Romeo. To respect her parents’ capacity of authority, she accepts the proposal after trying to convince them to not proceed on with the idea. Juliet’s parents weren’t being equitable, because they shouldn’t have compelled an abrupt marriage on Juliet. It was not appropriate for them to decide who she should
