In the narrative, “A Long Walk To Water,” by Linda Sue Park, a young boy named Salva lives in Southern Sudan and can't find his family due to war. He was sent to go into a group so they could get to a refugee camp where he found his Uncle who soon died and Salva finally made it to the camp and vowed to find his family. Salva never gives up and never loses hope in finding his family. Primarily, the word I would use to define Salva is optimistic. I would define Salva as optimistic because despite Uncle telling Salva that his family probably didn't make it out alive, he still has hope that they are.
