How The Respiratory System Affects The Human Body

Along with cardiovascular system and neurovascular system that are considered as two major systems, the respiratory system is also one of the major systems in human body. Without this system, no one is compatible with life. The respiratory system's primary function is to supply oxygen to all the parts of the body and to remove carbon dioxide from the body. This process calls ventilation or gas exchange which takes place in the lung. Whenever the respiratory system is affected by any types of diseases the entire body is also affected more particularly the cardiac system and the neuro system, and also, the process of gas exchange or ventilation may become difficult or impaired. The respiratory system can be affected by many types of diseases. One of the most common types is asthma.

Depending of the factors of causative, asthma may result from an allergy reaction that causes the cells to inflame and creates a blockage in the airway. The human body contains of many cells, and each of these cells is important according to their function. There are some cells that protect us from microbes, and some to prevent from an allergy, some that react in case of inflammation. For example, when there is a microbe, the body sends the antibody the lymphocytes (the T-helper cells) to combat against that germs to prevent any complication from occurring.
