There are many genres in the world of computer gaming. Here are just a few of them:
Action games
Action games are the most common type of genre in the gaming industry. They require the user to think on their feet and reach certain goal either in a limited time or do them over time. First person shooting involves the user uses keyboard, mouse or a console controller controlling the character in first person view. There are many sub categories to action games, they are fighting games, hack and slash games, platform games and maze games.
An example of an action game is Metal Gear Rising Vengeances. This game involves the person to create amazing combinations on the controller to slice and dice enemies it also involves the user to think on their feet…show more content… For example, League of legends requires the player to communicate with the team to think of different real time strategies to defeat the opponent’s team. The goal is to outplay the other team with mechanics and by out-smarting them.
Adventure/Puzzle
An Adventure is when you need to solve puzzles to next to the next stage of the game. Also as the complete the puzzles you may get special items to complete the next stage. And you may have to travel to get to the puzzles. This is more of a thinking genre of game. Adventure game have a mixture of combat and puzzle, even the bosses themselves have puzzle to defeat it.
An example of an adventure game is Lara croft. Lara croft is an adventure game where you complete very unique puzzles and boss battles. For example, there are three pillars with three different colours. The aim is to put the pillars in the right order and defeat the enemy. This fits the genre because you’ll have to think on your feet on how to solve the puzzles and defeat the many enemies.
