How to Read Literature Like a Professor
By Thomas C. Foster
(Adapted from Donna Anglin)
Chapter 1—Every Trip Is a Quest (Except When It’s Not)
The quest has 5 main aspects: The first one is the “quester”, the second is place to go, the third is the reason to go there, fourth is the obstacles to go through, and the fifth is the reason for going. An example would be Divergent, the quest to get to the erudite leader to stop the hypnosis.

Chapter 8—Hanseldee and Greteldum

Chapter 9—It’s Greek to Me

Chapter 13—It’s All Political
Two factions: one more democratic and another being a dictatorship. Normally the dictatorship is always winning, almost always. Such as in Divergent, they thought abnegation was being too free giving to the factionless, and erudite wanted full power and control
Chapter 14—Yes, She’s a Christ Figure, Too

Chapter 16—It’s All About Sex /Chapter 17--…Except the Sex
In Allegiant, it begins to describe a loving moment, but never actually says if Tobias and Tris have
