It’s Thanksgiving Day, Lilly an eight year old girl and her parents just spent the entire day at her grandparents’ house for an all day long thanksgiving feast with their entire family. At about eight o’clock at night they finally decide it is time to head home because Lilly is getting tired. It was a very snowy night, not quite white out conditions, but just about because the roads had not been plowed for a while. They were on a back road about 10 miles from their house, but they didn’t make it there. There was also a drunk driver on the same back road that they were traveling on. The drunk driver as he was approaching Lilly and her parents was swerving all over the road, but Lilly’s dad Jake could only see the oncoming trucks head lights, he was not able to tell that he had been swerving all over the place. …show more content…
As an attempt to miss the car that was now coming head on to their car, he jerked his car to the right, but hit a small patch of ice. Jake could not regain control of his car and the driver of the truck slammed into the right side of the car where Lilly and her mom Vanessa were sitting. Lilly and her parents are rushed to the hospital along with the drunk driver who was driving the truck that hit them. Jake suffered minor injuries and walked away with some broken ribs. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries, but was taken to jail immediately after being cleared to leave.
