She received her undergraduate degree in Music Education from Clarion University and her master’s degree from Duquesne University. She is also certified in Kodály teaching. Her school includes grade levels K-5. Each grade, with the exception of Kindergarten, has music class once a week. Kindergarten only has music class once every other week. For our second visit to her school, Mrs. Davidson invited us to teach a warm-up to her fifth and third grade classes. For fifth grade we taught a recorder activity that went along with the song “Out in the Garden”. We began by having the students sing the song and reviewing notes and fingerings on the recorder. We then split the students into groups and they sang the song and played the last few notes of each phrase on the recorder. For third grade, we taught them the song “Great Big House in New Orleans”.
